Songs about being bored: still not boring after all these years

Another video recommended by Ian below. Now that the classic Lawrence Welk rendition of "Sister Ray" has been pulled from Youtube, it's good that someone else is getting cute with the found footage. Enjoy.

Feel free to fill the comments with your thoughts about the Smothers Brothers' TV show, strictly for symmetry's sake.

Precisely what I was referring to, not to mention "I'm So Bored With The USA" by the Clash, "Bored" by Destroy All Monsters, "End Result" by Crass, "You Nought Me" by Flipper (chorus: "You're so bored/because you're boring!"), etc etc etc.

Old school boredom still rules.

I forgot "You Nought Me".

I don't know if you have the flipper dvd... but this the best live clip ever...

Actually, the filmmaker contacted me and asked me very nicely for permission to use some of my pictures in exchange for credit. So I agreed.

Haven't seen the movie yet. I see it's getting mixed reviews because she spends a lot of time on crappy contemporary pop-punk bands. But I think it's a good thing to inform the kids who are into that stuff about Flipper, the Subhumans, etc.

It's not unlike the white kids in the 60s who thought Cream's version of "Spoonful" was the greatest thing: "here, check out Howlin' Wolf. Now shut up."

It's a decent documentary, nice to Flipper in a documentary although only for about 15 seconds.
